Guidelines for Joining, Posting, and Commenting on the Forum
In order to ensure a lively yet respectful atmosphere in which to discuss German historical, literary, and cultural studies, the GSR forum has implemented the following system:
To join the Forum: before you can do anything else on the Forum, you must first sign up for a WordPress account. You can do so here: http://wordpress.com/signup/. In addition, we also require that all users who wish to submit or comment must include a first and last name as well as an email address at which they can be contacted.
After you have an account, send an e-mail to the administrator with your WordPress username to be added to the Forum.
To submit a specific argument to be posted: all new users are added as “contributors”; this means, you may submit new posts, but they must be approved by an administrator before they will show up on the Forum itself.
Also, for every single issue of the German Studies Review that is released, the moderators will add a new category named after that installment. All subsequent posts related to a topic within that issue should be placed under appropriate “Category” field selected. For example, were you to be searching out a post related to an article from the October 2006 issue, you would choose Category “2006, Issue 3 (October)” from the column to the right of the “Post” field. This is to ensure that one can both reference all commentary quickly by either the most recent posts or the individual issue.
To comment on a specific argument: simply click on the link labelled “comment” below the post itself and enter your response with relevant contact information. All comments will be held for moderations until an administrator approves them.
Important: all arguments are welcome, but those responses which violate the standards of respectability, appropriate language, or reasonable claims or fail to supply appropriate contact information will be blocked by the moderators.
